Telecom service provider RCN Metro Optical Networks, a division of RCN Corp., has been selected by CAL Financial, a California developer of proprietary electronic trading systems, to provide carrier-class Ethernet transport services. RCN Metro will provide a carrier-class Ethernet connection from CAL Financial’s trading partner in New York City to a Chicago-based financial exchange.
“We’re excited that CAL Financial has selected RCN Metro to provide them with Ethernet connectivity,” says Felipe Alvarez, president of RCN Metro. “We are certain that our Ethernet service will provide CAL Financial with a highly efficient, fully restorable, and easily managed network on which to operate their proprietary electronic payment systems.”
“To remain competitive, CAL Financial depends on its vendors to provide the speed and reliability necessary to be successful in the market. As a client of RCN Metro, we are aware of their dedication to a high level of service and attention to detail,” says John Indelicato, president, and chief executive officer, CAL Financial. “RCN Metro has clearly displayed a desire to provide a secure and reliable network that professional traders demand. As our trading network grows, we know RCN Metro will be there to meet our needs.”
