Russia’s national telecommunication service provider Rostelecom has deployed fiber optic networks in the Kurgan region. Rostelecom’s subscribers in the region can access to the high-speed telecommunication services. Rostelecom has announced that the coverage of its fiber optic network has reached to around 156,000 households in the Kurgan region. This amounts to half of the households in the region. Network coverage was raised by 6,500 households from January to September of 2015.
The operator said 3,000 households were covered in the city of Kurgan and 1,450 in the town of Shadrinsk. Rostelecom deploys its fiber optic network using GPON technology.
