Singapore based service provider, M1 has announced the launch of a range of bundled fiber and business communications plans tailored for small and home enterprises. M1’s newly launched SOHO Fibre Broadband plan includes a symmetrical 1 Gigabit fiber connection as well as business services including web and e-mail hosting, unified communications, and fixed voice services.
M1 is marketing the service to Singaporean entrepreneurs seeking to start and grow a business from home. SOHO stands for small office/home office. The service is priced at S$59 ($43.75) per month on a 24-month contract. This price also includes a 300Mbps mobile broadband service.
M1 Limited was previously known as MobileOne. M1 is one of the three major telecommunication service providers operating in Singapore. The other two operators in Singapore are Starhub and Singtel. Major shareholders of M1 include Keppel Telecoms (19.15%), SPH Multimedia (13.32%), and Axiata Investments (28.42%). The remaining shares are owned by institutional and public investors.
M1 is one of the three major full-service communications providers in Singapore. It offers a suite of mobile voice-and-data communication services over its 2G/3G/3.5G/4G/LTE-A network, including international-call services to both mobile, and fixed-line customers. These include SMS, MMS, WAP, GPRS, 3G, 3.5G, and 4G and was the first Singapore operator to launch a nationwide 4G LTE and 4G LTE-A network. It also offers prepaid mobile services, such as prepaid data plans, under its M Card brand. It is one of the operators in Singapore to offer a prepaid 4G service.
M1 had launched Gigabit Passive Optical Network plans, with speeds of 2 to 10Gbit/s. 10Gbit/s consumer plans were available by the end of 2015. M1 achieved 4G peak download speeds of more than 1Gbit/s, and peak upload speeds in excess of 130Mbit/s, through a collaboration with Huawei, reportedly Southeast Asia’s fastest combined upload and download mobile speeds.
