The Associate Director, Strategic IT and Telecom Procurement is responsible for developing global category business plans and strategic sourcing plans for key IT categories including Hardware, Telecom and Networking and Telecom Expense Management. S/he will create sourcing strategies that lay out clear action steps to drive cost savings, engaging and aligning with the internal customer as well as collaborates in the management of key suppliers. A key responsibility will be the development of Global IT and Telecom Category Plans that align with business strategies and objectives.
S/he serves as primary client interface to customers for all Telecom and IT hardware related procurement. In this position, s/he acts as process owner responsible for demonstrating Procurement’s value proposition to internal clients for Telecom Procurement. In this position, s/he collaborates with key customers, qualifies and measures suppliers’ performance in accordance with strategic corporate goals, risk management, cost savings and avoidance.
In this role, s/he manages the deliverables, metrics and KPIs for IT Hardware, Services and Telecom categories and markets.
Take a leadership role to strategically aligning the IT Hardware and Telecom team to fully support the IT business partner in alignment with the SBUs.
This position is responsible for ensuring procurement related processes and systems are reflective of business needs and are performing effectively and efficiently.
Develop optimum solution for Telecom Expense Management, including assessing current state and recommending future state processes.
Collaborate at a senior level with internal business partners associated with shared processes and systems i.e. Finance, Quality, and IT to develop and deliver successful business solutions.
Provide responsive, efficient and consistent processes while complying with business and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop senior level business relationships with internal customers and key partners, while providing a high level of professional support to include regional and satellite countries while ensuring purchasing policies and procedures are followed.
Analyze and monitor IT Global requirements integrating local, regional and global expenditures together with supplier performance. Lead global key supplier reviews and identify opportunities for improved sourcing initiatives.
Lead initiatives for global and provide guidance for regional supplier consolidation, improved supply chain efficiencies, cost savings and avoidances. Liaise with procurement peers to provide a coordinated approach facilitating the maximum benefits to the business.
Ensure suppliers are managed effectively, through initiatives such as strategic sourcing, performance monitoring against KPIs, SLAs, benchmarking, contract management and negotiation as well as ensuring the supplier qualification process is performed vigorously and efficiently.
Provide collaborative category management plans to senior management providing visibility on key operational achievements and measurable deliverables.
Proactively maintain awareness of global economic and business conditions to maximize business opportunities or minimize potential threats.
Provide leadership to the Telecom Procurement staff and consistently monitor performance and measures results against objectives and established expectations against strategies and annual business plan.
Undertake the full range of duties relevant to the leadership, management and development of the team to ensure their performance meets and or exceeds both the business and their own personal goals/objectives.
Participate in formal staff review processes e.g. performance and salary reviews to corporate standards and timescales.
Qualifications
• Broad, extensive and comprehensive working knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing methodologies, theories and principles.
• Broad technical knowledge and subject matter expertise in Telecommunications including voice and data networks and network hardware.
• Significant experience in Telecom Expense Management required.
• Knowledge of models and trends in the IT supply markets.
• Proven ability to learn internal computer systems.
• Experience in a global procurement leadership role demonstrating strong technical and analytical skills and a track record of success working in a global, team-based environment.
• Oracle and Microsoft experience in a global environment is beneficial.
• Experience within the healthcare or closely related industry, such as Pharmaceutical or Biomedical arena, preferred
• 15+ years Management/Procurement experience with emphasis in Telecom, IT Hardware, Maintenance.
• Highly proficient in contract negotiations, with significant knowledge of contractual language.
• 5+ years in a management role.
