FiberStar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei at the Huawei ISP Summit Asia Pacific 2019 in Bali to build an Ultra-broadband fiber optic network in Indonesia. Both FiberStar and Huawei has agreed to further deepen cooperation in addition to building a high-speed optical fiber network.
FiberStar plans to tap from the potential of Indonesia’s digital economy by expanding the coverage of the country’s network infrastructure leveraging advanced technologies. FiberStar cooperates with Huawei for the technology.
FiberStar had already partnered with Huawei to build a backbone DWDM network that connects Jakarta to Surabaya. The backbone fiber optic cable that is laid underwater has a transmission capacity of 1 terabit per second.
The Underwater cables and the terrestrial cables form a ring network with a total length of more than 3000 kilometers. The length of a single span exceeds 350 kilometers at some area. Building on the successful cooperation for optical network deployment, FiberStar will further strengthen cooperation with Huawei in the field of fixed networks and datacenters to jointly promote the digital transformation of Indonesia.
FiberStar has emerged as one of the fastest growing infrastructure service providers in Indonesia in a short span of time.
