Applications Engineer for the UK Market

Corning is looking for Applications Engineer to work in southern parts of the United Kingdom. Those who are curretly in the UK can apply.

Responsibilities:

-Establishing and maintaining working relationships with the technical teams of our customers, installers, and distribution partners to provide pre-and post-sales technical support
-Conducting product application and installation trainings, and facilitating the technical qualification of sales opportunities
-Investigating and resolving technical problems or quality concerns reported by customers or installers, including site visits as required
-Prioritizing and responding to technical inquiries and requests for product information, technical data or information about product performance
-Translating customer requirements and technical specifications into suitable system designs and product offerings
-Work in close collaboration with multiple departments, such as Sales, Customer Service, and Product Management, and representing the voice of the customer in new product development or product improvement projects
-Supporting marketing activities including trade shows or writing technical articles as required

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Communications or a related field
Fluent in English, oral & written
Fluent in a European or other language would be advantageous
Minimum of 1-2 years in a customer facing role
Ideally had technical/commercial interface experience within a technology company or the telecommunications industry in the Enterprise and Data Center market segment
Knowledge, experience or training in Optoelectronics, Optical fiber, Optical Cables, Photonics, Telecommunication Networks and/or technical or engineering role desired
Ablility to travel extensively and at short notice to Europe, Middle-East, Africa and USA
Valid driving license and clean driving record to allow renting vehicles as required
Eligibility to live and work in the UK

Corning’s optical communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
